Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using the Postdigital Learner Agency platform (“the Platform”), you agree to these terms of use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. The Platform is operated by the University of British Columbia to facilitate academic book contributions.
2. Account Registration
To use the Platform, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities under your account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information and to update it as necessary.
3. Acceptable Use
When using the Platform, you agree to:
- Use the Platform only for its intended purpose of academic book contribution and editorial collaboration
- Submit only original work or work for which you have appropriate rights and permissions
- Provide accurate authorship and affiliation information
- Respect intellectual property rights of others
- Not attempt to access accounts, data, or areas of the Platform not authorized for your role
- Not upload malicious files or attempt to compromise Platform security
4. Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of the manuscripts and materials you submit through the Platform. By submitting content, you grant the Platform operators a limited license to store, display, and process your submissions for the purpose of editorial review and publication management. Publication rights are governed by your separate agreement with the publisher (Springer Nature).
5. Submission Guidelines
When submitting manuscripts through the Platform:
- Submissions must be in the accepted file formats (.doc, .docx) and within the size limit (128MB)
- You must complete all required declarations regarding originality and permissions
- Co-author information must be accurate, and you must have consent from co-authors to include their details
- Submitted manuscripts are subject to editorial review and may require revisions
6. Editorial Process
The editorial team reserves the right to review, request revisions, approve, or decline submitted chapters. Deadlines are set by the editorial team and authors are expected to adhere to them. The Platform may send automated notifications regarding submission status and deadlines.
7. Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. The Platform administrators may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your profile data will be removed, though submitted manuscripts may be retained as part of the editorial record.
8. Disclaimers
The Platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. While we strive for continuous availability, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Platform may undergo maintenance periods during which access is temporarily restricted.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will notify users of material changes via email or Platform notification.
